Michael Jackson

In the early 1980s, Michael Jackson became a dominant figure in popular music. With his music he broke down racial barriers … whenever I would see or hear a Michael Jackson performance, I could not help but become totally engrossed in the moment. Michael Jackson became art.

What I admire about this “beautiful soul” is his level of discipline. To work at something to the point of making it seem effortless is a mark of a beautiful soul in my book. This is a testament to his incredible work ethic. People don’t get that good at something without drive and determination. Every time he performed he delivered a transcendent experience where he transported people beyond where their current mind held them prisoner to something different and somewhere better.

Did you know Michael invented a dance move for which he was awarded U.S. Patent No. 5,255,452, thereby also contributing to intellectual property culture. In his “Smooth Criminal” video, MJ and his backup dancers lean forward in a gravity-defying manner to an impossible angle – you can see this dance move also in the dace moves for Smooth Criminal.

I miss this soul here on earth… Michael thank you for the lesson.
