Everything Possible

At some point most anyone who seeks to ‘know thyself’ has run into the phrase: the law of attraction. It is said that the ‘law of attraction’ is a universal immutable law.

Immutable in the respect that it is unchanging through time.

Now, the law of attraction simply is the name given to the belief that “like attracts like” and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results. (wikipedia)

Breaking it down now to a more scientific foundation according to Dr. Srini Pillay (author of Life Unlocked) stated that recent brain imaging studies are showing evidence to the discovery of “mirror neurons” in humans that mirror the behavior of someone who is being observed. That is, when we observe someone doing something, the same pattern of brain activation that allows that person to do what they are doing (e.g. lifting up their right hand or smiling) is mirrored in the brain of the observer. It is as if the observer is doing those same things. Similarly, when we act, the brains of others will fire in a similar way. Our actions cause similar action-representations in the brains of others.
(creepy right?)

The brain regions involved in “intention” are very connected to those regions involved in action. As a result, firing up those brain regions involved in intention will start to fire up your action centers. Intention needs to be strong enough for action to occur. Also, when you place your attention on a certain feeling (e.g. pain), it can magnify that feeling. For example, when we place our attention away from that pain, the pain is decreased. So it appears that it is not so much that we are “attracting” what we put out, but that we make it possible to feel and do things when we attend to them or intend to do them.

Dr. Pillay further states that “contagious actions”, “contagious feelings”, “intention-action” connections and “attention-action” connections all support the “law of attraction”. Underlying all of these ideas is the notion of connection – we are connected within and without. What we think and feel affects how we will act and how others will act as well. The depth of our feelings and actions is a critical variable in “attracting” what we want to our lives.

Now, how does this relate to ‘everything-possible’. Why?? everything!!!

Does it mean because you are trying to attain something and complications arise that it’s not possible?
Not necessarily.

They said I did not have enough strength in my wrist to qualify for the police officer position for Metro-Dade County. I went through two police academy’s before I was deputized as a Sheriff and received a marksmen certification.

I took what seemed impossible and turned it into possible. This realization is something that no one but the ‘self’ has to do. It’s like clearing the cobwebs and instead of focusing in the impossible the perspective must be tuned into the possible. The intention and the passion must drive you to make the small changes in the mind that are turned into manifestations of possible actions of the will.

I became a Realtor, a corporate recruiter, a Mortgage Broker, a Certified Mediator and Counselor – not so much because I believed in myself, but more so because I believed I could develop skills to help others.

I have come to understand that we ‘live’ where our thoughts are. I chose to believe in what is ‘possible’, what about you?
