Cassadaga – One Daytona – Family

The one thing that either many Love or not so much Love about the state of Florida is… that it’s so huge! The best part is that the peninsula juts out with so much land surrounded by water – after moving to Central Florida – I realized how much mass this state has, specially if you live in South Miami and are trying to make it out of the state.

Well, that’s my introduction to say, I enjoyed a lovely visit from my mother and brother followed by the added visit of my niece Jacqueline and her boyfriend Carlos.

We were able to surprise our son Geordan who was playing an event at One Daytona, it’s become an entertainment destination located across from Daytona International Speedway – recently honored with two silver awards for the Art Festival @ ONE DAYTONA.

The next day I took Edwin to Lake Helen City Hall, showed him around our historic prairie style building which use to house the elementary school. He even gave me a hand adding the new message on the marquee and then had a go at sitting at the Mayor’s seat and calling the room to order with the gavel.

Being that it was Saturday, we stopped to Blake Park to visit our local Market in the Park, and he was all over Nydia’s Empanadas. I must admit we did have a few people staring our way, it’s not every day someone pulls up driving a Tesla in our small little town.

Our next stop was not too far away, a skip and a hop and we were at the Lake Helen Equestrian Center which had an equestrian event hosted by the West Volusia Saddle Club.

The next day Jackie and Carlos her boyfriend drove up for the day, we hung around at our place enjoying the lovely weather. I brought out my bow and arrows and we gave it a go and tested our archery skills.

No visit is complete to my place without a stop over to Cassadaga and the Fairy Trail

It’s a destination all by itself

I love my family…
