The Dragon Within

Have you ever felt that you are re-living an experience from your past in your present?

I’m not referring to the hard to explain phenomena where you may say to yourself…’wow, I’ve been here before’.

I’m talking about the maddening cycle where no matter where you move, what new job you get or new relationship you are in…you still attract the same type of people or circumstances that you were originally running from.

Been there?

I have. What I’ve learned from life is that until you face your dragon, and embrace the experience… life will continue to dish out the same back at you until you master that experience.

I see life as a game with many levels; how can you possibly stand strong at the next tier of life when you have yet to master yourself – your emotions and your thoughts at the current level?

James Allen a meta-physician wrote: “Let a person rejoice when he is confronted with obstacles, for it means that he has reached the end of some particular line of indifference or folly, and is now called upon to summon up all his energy and intelligence in order to extricate himself, and to find a better way; that the powers within him are crying out for greater freedom, for enlarged exercise and scope.

No situation can be difficult of itself; it is the lack of insight into its intricacies, and the want of wisdom in dealing with it, which give rise to the difficulty. ”

The way I handle this is that instead of fighting growth, I jump into the crisis. I allow for (only a short while) to be immersed in the complete experience of my crisis (which of course I don’t really like at all) and from this emotional point I begin pulling myself out to gain the insight and wisdom to handle it.

Running away from ones crisis only serves to create insurmountable mountains… walking through hills and valleys is much more joyful.

…and yes, with every dragon you fight you yourself become transformed, more polished, more radiant and strong.

Daisy Says: Face your dragon, and be ready for the next lesson — only stronger, both in spirit and in wisdom!
