A Beach Sunrise

How does one live a life of non-attachment when it seems that the world we live in wants us to be attached?
Simple, be and let others BE.

I am learning more and more to BE and to be the best version of whom I can be without being imposing.

George asked me what I wanted for mother’s day. I wanted to hear my son’s voice and hold him in my arms… and until then, going to the beach was the perfect way to greet this lovely day. No flowers, no dinner out, while those things are wonderful, they are only wonderful when the are offered from the heart without prompt. So how does a person measure love?

In my opinion it’s a feeling that can only be transmitted from one heart to the other. Some people “say I love you”… and that is important, but if words are not packed with feeling and deeds then… what is it really? For now, it’s best I leave this as an open question.

Part of being a mother is accepting that our children grow and they have adult lives. I can only hope that some trace of happy childhood moments still remain, maybe playing nintendo together, or pretending he was Mario and I was Princess Peach and we ran around the house deciphering a map he designed so we can beat Bowser… those little things that somehow when I see him – I still see that little boy.

Life. Enjoy the Journey.
