A Day in the Life of Ms. Helen

Todays’ series is a day in the life of Ms. Helen. Our cat. Peggy- who use to live in the house we moved into found her abandoned by her mother’s place when she was a few days old.

Peggy insisted that we needed a ‘Barn Cat’… and after 2 months we caved in and accepted the little feline.

She is the perfect cat. She is a very hard worker and keeps us all on task. WE love her!
These are a trip down memory lane from a lovely Florida day in September 2013.

Miss Helen believes it’s always wise to start your day off with a good breakfast.

Quickly she runs out to check out ‘The chicks of Lake Helen’ who are ready for a new day of scratching and cooing.

Once the chicks are out Miss Helen is off to check on
Rocco and Molly who are already grazing.

Molly and Rocco: “yumm-mmmooo”

Molly: “Good-mooorning

The Chicks of Lake Helen are one happy flocky bunch.

Waith up… I hear something! Miss Helen: “Daisy let’s go, the garden awaits us”.

Miss Helen is perfectly correct… lots of wonders await in the garden like these lovely dry mammoth sunflowers.

Okay, now back inside with our freshly harvested herbs: basil, false roselle and pine needles for tea.

Where did my little kitty go? Miss Helen: “Perhaps under the sofa?”, Silly cat, I’m talking about you!

Meanwhile outside the orange trees ‘dance in the rain’.

Miss Helen insist we check on the cows… and we hear Rocco:
“Hurry Molly it’s gonna be down pour girl!”.
Rocco comes in for a close up: “Moooooooo”

.. and the rain keeps coming. As any typical Florida September, starts out sunny… then some rain.. then more sun …and before we know it… the night comes upon us.

Rocco and Molly (aka: Stinky and Binky): Moo-night!

Another day has come and gone and Miss Helen is happy that everyone is accounted for.
A cat’s job is never done prrrrrr” “meownight”
