The Energy Bus

I was visiting my friend Lee over the weekend and I noticed a golden yellow book by his table side. Within a few minutes I was captivated by the story inside. Jon Gordon put together 10 rules to fuel your life, work and team with positive energy, and he did this very cleverly using the analogy of a bus.

Easy, fun to read book that can help you bring clarity to your life and set a new course.

The first rule he started with was: You are the driver of your bus.

Sometimes in life we fail to see that we are living someone elses dreams and goals, or that our purpose to achieve something truly does not come from something inside but more to prove to others that we can do it. I believe that it is important for each one of us to realize that we are the driver of our bus. That is a great place to start!

2. Desire, Vision and Focus move your bus in the right direction.
3. Fuel your Ride with Positive Energy.
4. Invite People on Your Bus and Share your Vision for the Road Ahead.
5. Don’t Waste Your Energy on those who don’t get on your Bus.
6. Post a Sign that says “No Energy Vampires Allowed” on your Bus.
7. Enthusiasm attracts more Passengers and Energizes them during the Ride.
8. Love your Passengers. (How? Make time for them, listen to them, recognize them, serve them and bring out the best in them.)
9. Drive with Purpose.
10. Have Fun and Enjoy the Ride.

Do you find yourself frustrated that you work so hard at trying to reach your dream or goal? — think on this: If someone else is driving your bus… how long will it take to reach your destination when someone else is driving, taking detours and pit stops?

Daisy Says: Get in the driver’s seat!
