Your Problems, Your Gifts

illusions

There is
no such thing as a problem
without a gift for you
in its hands.

You seek problems
because you need
their gifts.

— excerpt from: Illusions, The Adventure of a Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach

I posted something about a book I was reading and an online friend remembered having a book by the same author…so he went on a hunt inside his garage. Funny part, I don’t think he found the book he was looking for but he did run into Illusions, which I happen to have myself. So here I find myself now re-visiting the book, the good news is – I didn’t have to dig it out of my attic, just picked it from my bookshelf.

Illusions is a short read, with a great message.

Could you imagine if all the events in your life were created by you for the mere purpose of you personal growth and evolution… the pains, the joy and everything in between … just Illusions?

Our life is what we make it. What a grand way to see ‘problems’… as gifts. I recall about when we moved up to the Orlando area from Fort Lauderdale, after a month and half of working from our company office located in Orlando – several of the managers advised me that our company had a satellite office somewhere in Winter Park and that it was only minutes from my home. They said that the office needed a leader and that I would be perfect… (later I discovered that some of the managers lived nearby as well). For the next few months I was in this office by myself, no one really knew it existed, the office was left in shambles and I had a lot of clerical and administrative things to do to bring it back from the dark ages; I had to quickly learn new skills and perform tasks that I had never done.

Lots of Problems, but as Richard Bach narrated in his book… Gifts.

The ‘problems’ the following eight months were intense, but the gifts were many. I learned so much about my industry, about people and mostly about myself.

Can you look back and see the gifts in the problems you had to face? … tell me about them.

Daisy Says: Work through your problems so you can find the gifts.
