Corn Maze Craze

I have a fascination with corn mazes, and visiting one seems to beckon the Fall Season for me. Several years back during our second Autumn in Central Florida I scouted for a corn maze farm and was fortunate to find Great Scott Farms

which used to be called Long and Scott Farms in Mount Dora, Florida.  Mount Dora is a quaint little town and a must travel destination for the pure experience of visiting small Florida towns.

This year George and I visited Great Scott farms and introduced my little brother along with my nieces Ariana and Jackie… it was a delight to see them experience their first maze crawl.

You can expect to have a great family experience or if you are on a date… this is a perfect loose yourself together experience.

This is not just about getting lost and finding your way out… Great Scott Farms each year has a new design. When entering into the maze you are offered the opportunity to partake in a Sheet Game.  Once in the maze you can look for 23 stations that will help you complete your game sheet… trying to locate all stations means that possibly you may  have to back track your steps a few times which adds to the maze craze in my opinion and of-course the fun!

Also, there are lots of activities for children, and food trucks.  Most important there is CORN! Hot boiled corn…. with delicious buttery topping and sprinkle of salt, which is a must snack on before entering the maze.

After successfully finding the exit… it would not be a full experience without going through Great Scott farmers market and bringing a bag of corn home… and let me tell you, it’s worth it!

No doubt by seeing these smiles that lots of bonding, stories, laughter and fun was had.

I’m already looking forward to next years’ corn maze!!
